Canolfan Chwaraeon o'r Radd Flaenaf yn Agor yn Llangefni
Mae Grŵp Llandrillo Menai wedi agor eu hadeilad carbon Net-Sero cyntaf - sef canolfan chwaraeon newydd sbon o'r radd flaenaf - a ariennir mewn partneriaeth â Llywodraeth Cymru.
Cafodd y ‘Ganolfan Chwaraeon’ newydd sbon sydd wedi’i leoli ar gampws Coleg Menai yn Llangefni ei agor yn swyddogol ddoe (dydd Iau, Ionawr 26) gan Weinidog Addysg a’r Gymraeg Llywodraeth Cymru, Jeremy Miles AS
Yn ystod yr agoriad swyddogol, a fynychwyd gan y chwaraewr rygbi enwog Shane Williams, cafodd sefydliadau a phartneriaid daith o amgylch y ganolfan, a chael gweld drostynt eu hunain sut bydd y dysgwyr yn elwa o'r cyfleusterau newydd.
Derbyniwyd cefnogaeth gwerth £8 miliwn gan Lywodraeth Cymru, drwy Raglen Cymunedau Cynaliadwy’r Llywodraeth ar gyfer y datblygiad, fydd yn anelu at drawsnewid profiad dysgu’r dysgwyr, gan sicrhau eu bod yn cael eu haddysgu mewn ystafelloedd dosbarth gyda'r technoleg a'r cyfleusterau sydd eu hangen i gefnogi'r gwaith o gyflwyno'r Cwricwlwm i Gymru.
Mae'r ganolfan, a adeiladwyd gan gwmni Read Construction o Ogledd Cymru ar amser ac o fewn cyllideb, yn cynnwys neuadd chwaraeon newydd sbon, campfa a stiwdio fawr, cyfleusterau newid, 7 ystafell ddosbarth, labordai ac ystafelloedd staff.
Mae’r ganolfan wedi ei chynllunio a’i hadeiladu yn gynaliadwy, ac mae hi wedi ei hardystio’n ffurfiol fel adeilad‘BREEAM Ardderchog’ – gan ei gosod ymhlith y 10% uchaf o adeiladau yn y DU o ran perfformiad amgylcheddol.
Mae'r ganolfan yn cynnwys llawer o elfennau cynaliadwy, gan gynnwys paneli ffotofoltäig ar yr adeilad, fydd yn darparu 343kWp o drydan.
Y ganolfan newydd felly fydd yr adeilad Di-Garbon Net cyntaf i'w adeiladu gan y Grŵp - sydd yn ateb gofynion a chanllawiau cynaliadwyedd diweddaraf Llywodraeth Cymru.
Mi fydd y ganolfan newydd yn gartref i'r dechnoleg a'r offer diweddaraf ar gyfer monitro perfformiad a rhagoriaeth chwaraeon, gan gynnwys beiciau wat, peiriannau Seca i ddarparu dadansoddiad cyfansoddiad corff llawn gradd feddygol, a melin draed arbenigol yn cynnwys system dadansoddi bagiau nwy Douglas i asesu Vo2max.
Dywedodd y Gweinidog dros Addysg a’r Gymraeg, Jeremy Miles,
“Rwy’n falch o agor Canolfan Chwaraeon newydd Llangefni yn swyddogol, gyda chefnogaeth dros £4m o gyllid gan Lywodraeth Cymru.
“Fel llywodraeth rydym wedi ymrwymo i wneud Cymru yn genedl ‘ail gyfle’ – lle y gall pawb gyrraedd eu llawn botensial. Mae cyfleusterau fel hyn wrth galon cefnogi’r ethos hwn ar gyfer dysgwyr o bob oed yng Nghymru. Mae’n dda clywed mai’r uchelgais yn y dyfodol yw ehangu defnydd y ganolfan i bawb yn y gymuned leol.”
Eglurodd Alex Read, Cyfarwyddwr Read Construction,
“Roedd cwmni Read yn falch iawn o weithio gyda’r coleg at y prosiect modern, carbon isel hwn. Mae’r bartneriaeth yma wedi arwain at brosiect mawreddog sydd wedi ennill dyfarniad EPC A+. Rydym wedi llwyddo i ail-fuddsoddi’r bunt Gymraeg yn y broses drwy weithio gyda chwmniau lleol yn y gobaith o gefnogi cenhedlaethau’r dyfodol”

“Mae cwblhau Canolfan Chwaraeon newydd Coleg Menai yn gam mawr arall ymlaen yn strategaeth ystadau uchelgeisiol y Grŵp. Bydd y ganolfan yn cynhyrchu pobl ifanc medrus ar gyfer y diwydiannau Chwaraeon a Gwasanaethau Cyhoeddus, megis yr Heddlu a'r Gwasanaeth Tân.
Bydd myfyrwyr o bob rhan o'r campws hefyd yn gallu elwa o'r adnoddau drwy ddefnyddio cyfleusterau newydd y Gampfa; rhan hanfodol o’n strategaeth lles dysgwyr”.
The brand new ‘Canolfan Chwaraeon’ based at Coleg Menai’s campus in Llangefni, was officially opened yesterday (Thursday, January 26th) by the Welsh Government’s Education and Welsh Language Minister, Jeremy Miles MS.
At the official opening, attended by special guest rugby union player Shane Williams, partner organisations were given a tour of the centre, and saw first hand how learners were already benefiting from the impressive facilities.
‘Canolfan Chwaraeon’ is backed with £8 million of funding from the Welsh Government’s Sustainable Communities for Learning Programme, which aims to transform the learning experience of learners, ensuring they are taught in classrooms with the technologies and facilities needed to support the delivery of the Curriculum for Wales.
The centre, built by North Wales company Read Construction on time and to budget, includes a brand new sports hall, large gym and studio, changing facilities, 7 classrooms, laboratories and staff rooms.
Having been designed and built with sustainability in mind, ‘Canolfan Chwaraeon’ has been formally certified ‘BREEAM Excellent’ - ranking it among the top 10% of buildings in the UK for environmental performance.
The centre features a long list of sustainable elements, including photovoltaic panels on the building and remote areas, providing an impressive 343kWp.
As a result, the new centre is the very first Net-Zero Carbon building to be constructed by the Grŵp - meeting the very latest Welsh Government sustainability guidelines and requirements.
The new facility is home to the latest cutting-edge technology and equipment for monitoring sporting performance and excellence, including wattbikes, Seca machines to provide medical grade full body composition analysis, and a specialist treadmill featuring a douglas bag gas analysis system to assess Vo2max.
Minister for Education and Welsh Language, Jeremy Miles, said “I’m pleased to officially open the new Canolfan Chwaraeon at Llangefni, supported by over £4m of Welsh Government funding.
“As a government we are committed to making Wales a ‘second chance’ nation - a place where everyone can reach their full potential. Facilities like this are at the heart of supporting this ethos for learners of all ages in Wales. It’s good to hear that the future ambition is to extend the centre’s use to everyone within the local community.”
“Read were proud to work with the college to deliver this state of the art, carbon considered development. The collaborative delivery of this prestigious project resulted in a building that has achieved EPC A+, reinvestment of the Welsh pound through the engagement of local companies, and supported the future generation.”
