Myfyriwr Chwaraeon wedi ei dewis i Gynrychioli Gogledd Orllewin Cymru
Mae Cassie Ogilvy, sy’n astudio Chwaraeon yng Ngholeg Meirion-Dwyfor wedi’i dewis i ymuno â charfan pêl-rwyd ‘North Wales Fury’.
Bydd y garfan yn cystadlu yng nghynghrair cenedlaethol Cymru, sy'n cynnwys chwe thîm cystadleuol wedi'u lleoli ledled Cymru
Mae Cassie hefyd yn aelod o dîm pêl-rwyd Colegau Cymru, a hi oedd enillydd ‘Tarian Goffa Robin Llŷr Evans’ yn seremoni wobrwyo Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor yn 2022.
Dywedodd Rhodri Scott, darlithydd Chwaraeon yng Ngholeg Meirion-Dwyfor,
"Mae hi wedi bod yn hynod o braf gweld llwyddiant Cassie, nid yn unig ar y cwrt pêl-rwyd ond hefyd yn y dosbarth. Mae hi'n rhoi 100% i bopeth. Mae'r llwyddiant diweddar yma'n mynd i fod yn brofiad anhygoel iddi, cael chwarae i dîm Gogledd Orllewin Cymru yn erbyn rhai o dimau a chwaraewyr gorau'r wlad"
Ychwanegodd,
“Cassie yw’r fyfyrwraig gyntaf o Goleg Meirion-Dwyfor i gael ei dewis, hi hefyd yw’r person ieuengaf erioed i chwarae i ‘North Wales Fury’, sy’n gosod ei llwyddiant anhygoel yn ei gyd-destun.”

The squad will compete in the Welsh national league, made up of six competitive teams located throughout Wales
Cassie is also a member of the Colegau Cymru netball team, and was the winner of the ‘Robin Llŷr Evans Memorial Shield’ at the Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor awards ceremony in 2022.
Rhodri Scott, Sports lecturer at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor, said,
"It has been extremely nice to see Cassie's success, not only on the netball court but also in the classroom. She gives 100% to everything. This recent success is going to be an amazing experience for her, getting to play for the North West Wales regional team against some of the best teams and players in the country"
He added,
"Cassie is the first student from Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor to be selected, she is also the youngest person ever to play for ‘North Wales Fury’, which puts her incredible success in context"
