Bydd Bwyty a Chanolfan Gynadledda'r Orme View yn ailagor y mis hwn wrth i'r tymor academaidd newydd ddechrau.

Coleg Llandrillo’s Orme View Restaurant and Bistro will open again this month as the new academic term begins.

Bydd y Bistro ar agor o ddydd Llun 11 Medi, a bydd bwyty Orme View yn croesawu cwsmeriaid o ddydd Mawrth, 19 Medi.

Mae’r ddau fwyty sydd wedi’u lleoli ar gampws y coleg yn Llandrillo-yn-Rhos ac ar agor i’r cyhoedd, yn rhoi cyfle i fyfyrwyr arlwyo a lletygarwch fireinio eu sgiliau mewn amgylchedd byd go iawn.

Mae gan yr Orme View enw da yn rhyngwladol am ragoriaeth, ac mae ei staff a’i fyfyrwyr wedi ennill nifer o wobrau a chystadlaethau cenedlaethol a rhyngwladol. Yno, caiff cwsmeriaid brydau gourmet am bris sy'n dipyn rhatach na'r prisiau a godir yn y bwytai gorau.

Mae'r Bistro ar agor i staff, myfyrwyr a'r cyhoedd am goffi boreol a chinio. Caiff popeth ei goginio a'i weini gan fyfyrwyr sy'n cael eu goruchwylio gan staff profiadol ac ymroddgar, ac mae'r nifer o ddigwyddiadau a gynhelir yn ystod y flwyddyn ar themâu penodol yn brawf o'u dychymyg a'u sgiliau coginio.

Dyfarnwyd y sgôr hylendid bwyd uchaf o bump i’r ddau fwyty yn dilyn arolygiad diweddar, ynghyd â Chaffi Gorwelion, sydd ar agor i fyfyrwyr a staff ar gampws y coleg yn Llandrillo-yn-Rhos.

The Bistro will be open from Monday, September 11, while the Orme View restaurant will welcome customers from Tuesday, September 19.

Both are based at the college’s Rhos-on-Sea campus and are open to the public, giving catering and hospitality students the chance to hone their skills in a real-world environment.

The Orme View has an international reputation for excellence, with its staff and students having won numerous national and international awards and competitions. It provides customers with a gourmet dining experience at a fraction of the cost of top restaurants.

The Bistro is open to staff, students and the public for morning coffee and lunch. Everything is cooked and served by students who are supervised by experienced, dedicated staff, while numerous themed events throughout the year demonstrate their imagination and culinary skills.

Both restaurants were awarded the maximum food hygiene rating of five following a recent inspection, along with the Horizons Café, which is open to students and staff at the Rhos campus.

Dywedodd Brian Hansen, Darlithydd yn y Celfyddydau Coginio a Lletygarwch: “Rydyn ni'n falch iawn ein bod wedi gallu parhau â’n hanes o ennill sgôr hylendid bwyd pum seren ym mwyty'r Orme View, Y Bistro, a’r Ffreutur.

“Mae’n rhaid i ni gynnal y safonau uchaf gan fod gennym ni gyfrifoldeb i roi meincnod uchel i’r myfyrwyr fynd gyda nhw i mewn i’r diwydiant.

“Mae hylendid bwyd a rheoli safonau diogelwch bwyd yn rhan hanfodol o’n hyfforddiant proffesiynol, ac maent wedi’u hymgorffori yn ein haddysg o Lefel 1 hyd at raglenni gradd blwyddyn olaf.

“Rydyn ni’n arbennig o falch bod gennym gyfleusterau cegin o’r radd flaenaf, a bod safonau masnachol a phroffesiynol yn cael eu trosglwyddo i’r myfyrwyr fel rhan o’n haddysgu. Nid mewn theori yn unig y byddwn yn ei wneud, rydyn ni’n ei wneud yn ymarferol hefyd.”

Brian Hansen, lecturer in Culinary Arts and Hospitality, said: “We’re really pleased that we’ve been able to continue our history of five-star food hygiene ratings in the Orme View Restaurant, Y Bistro, and Refectory.

“We have to maintain the highest standards as we have a responsibility to give the students a high benchmark to take with them into the industry.

“Food hygiene and management of food safety standards are an essential part of our professional training, and are embedded into our education from Level 1 right through to final-year degree programmes.

“We’re particularly proud to have state-of-the-art kitchen facilities, and that commercial and professional standards are being transferred to the students as part of our teaching. We don’t do it just in theory, we do it in practice as well.”

The Orme View Restaurant will be open for lunch Tuesday to Thursday (12pm) from September 19, and for evening dinner on Thursdays (7pm) from September 28. To book, call 01492 542341, email ovr@gllm.ac.uk or book via the online reservation system.
