Gwaith Tiwtor Celf a Myfyrwyr yn Cyrraedd Rownd Derfynol Genedlaethol

Mae gwaith celf gan diwtor Celf a myfyrwyr yng Ngholeg Meirion-Dwyfor, wedi cyrraedd rownd derfynol yng nghystadleuaeth celf genedlaethol, Creative Lives.

Mewn partneriaeth gyda Chyngor Tref Cricieth ac adran celf y coleg, mae’r myfyrwyr wedi bod yn gweithio ar brosiectau amrywiol ar draws y dref, er mwyn creu gofodau newydd er mwyn magu a meithrin yr ymdeimlad o berthyn ac o rannu profiadau, ac ymgysylltu cymunedol.

Mae hyn yn cynnwys gwaith yn y Neuadd Goffa, oedd yn dathlu ei chanmlwyddiant yn ddiweddar.

Dywedodd y Cyng. Sian Williams, Cadeirydd Cyngor Tref Cricieth:

“Rydym wedi adeiladu ar ein hanes o ymgysylltu creadigol ac wedi hwyluso nifer o brosiectau cymunedol llawn dychymyg sydd wedi cynnwys gwirfoddolwyr di-rif yn eu dylunio a’u creu. Rydym wrth ein bodd bod ein prosiectau creadigol wedi’u cydnabod gyda Gwobr Bywydau Creadigol Cymru yn 2021 a’n bod wedi cyrraedd y rhestr fer ar gyfer gwobrau 2022. Ni yw’r unig grŵp o Ogledd Cymru sydd ar y rhestr fer. Mae ein prosiectau, llawer mewn partneriaeth, wedi cynnwys nifer fawr o gymdeithasau gwirfoddol, ysgolion lleol, Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor, artistiaid unigol a thalentau creadigol eraill. Yn ogystal â hyrwyddo creadigrwydd maent wedi helpu i frwydro yn erbyn unigrwydd ac yn cael eu gwerthfawrogi'n fawr. “

Chwaraeodd myfyrwyr Celf, Celf, Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor, rhan ganolog yn y prosiect, gan weithio’n agos iawn gyda’r gymuned leol.

Dywedodd Ffion Meleri Gwyn, darlithydd celf yng Ngholeg Meirion-Dwyfor, Pwllheli.

"Roedd yn hyfryd gweld canlyniadau'r prosiect cymunedol hwn, yn gyfle gwych i'r myfyrwyr gymryd rhan yn nathliad canmlwyddiant Neuadd Goffa Cricieth. Mae'n hynod bwysig bod cyfleoedd o'r fath yn cael eu darparu i bobol ifanc iddynt gael gweld bod ffrwyth eu llafur yn cael eu gwerthfawrogi, i gael datblygu eu sgiliau ac i brofi'r teimlad o berthyn i gymuned agos.

Bydd llwybr y canmlwyddiant yn cael eu gwerthfawrogi’n fawr gan drigolion y fro ac ymwelwyr am flynyddoedd i ddod.”

A partnership between the college’s Art department and Criccieth Town Council, has afforded learners with the chance to work on various projects across the town. The collaborations have created new spaces, helped nurture and foster a sense of belonging, allowed shared experiences, and aided community engagement.

The A-level Creative Art students played a central role in the centenary trail project, working very closely with the local community. Some of the pieces have taken centre stage in the town’s Memorial Hall, which recently celebrated its centenary.

Cllr Sian Williams, chairperson of Criccieth Town Council said: “We have built on our history of creative engagement and facilitated a number of imaginative community projects which have involved countless volunteers in their design and creation.

“We are delighted that our creative projects have been recognised: winning the Welsh Creative Lives Award in 2021 and now being shortlisted for the 2022 awards. We are the only group from North Wales to be shortlisted.

“As well as this partnership with Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor, the council has worked in collaboration with a number of voluntary associations, local schools, and individual artists. The initiatives have helped to promote creativity and combat loneliness and are much appreciated by many."

Ffion Meleri Gwyn, Creative Arts lecturer at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor, Pwllheli said: "It is a great opportunity for the students to participate in the Criccieth Memorial Hall centenary celebrations, and it is wonderful to see the results of this community project.

“It is extremely important that young people are provided with such opportunities, so that they can see that the fruits of their labour are valued, develop their skills, and experience the feeling of belonging to a close community. The centenary trail will be greatly appreciated by locals and visitors for years to come.”
