Partneriaeth Newydd Gyffrous rhwng Rondo Media a Choleg Menai

Cyn hir bydd Coleg Menai a Rondo Media, y cwmni cynhyrchu sy'n gyfrifol am y gyfres deledu boblogaidd 'Rownd a Rownd', yn cychwyn ar bartneriaeth newydd gyda'i gilydd.

Bydd myfyrwyr sy'n dilyn cyrsiau ym maes Celfyddydau Creadigol, Cyfryngau a Gwallt a Harddwch yng Ngholeg Menai yn cael profiad gwerthfawr o'r diwydiant drwy weithio ochr yn ochr â thîm Rondo Media.

Bydd y myfyrwyr yn treulio diwrnod yn stiwdio 'Rownd a Rownd' yn Llangefni, a byddant hefyd yn cael eu mentora ymlaen llaw ac yn cael cyfle i ofyn cwestiynau er mwyn cefnogi eu dealltwriaeth o weithio ar set deledu broffesiynol.

Bydd y rolau y bydd y myfyrwyr yn cael profiad ohonynt yn amrywio o waith actio i fod yn dechnegwyr sain, gweithredwyr camerâu, cyfarwyddwyr, golygyddion, ac artistiaid coluro a thrin gwallt.

Y gobaith yw cynnal y prosiect ddwywaith y flwyddyn, unwaith yn yr hydref ac unwaith yn y gwanwyn – gan roi digon o gyfle i fyfyrwyr gymryd rhan.

Dywedodd Fflur Rees Jones, Pennaeth Cynorthwyol Coleg Menai, "Rydym yn hynod gyffrous i weithio gyda Rondo Media ac rydym yn ddiolchgar iawn iddynt am roi'r cyfle gwych hwn i'n myfyrwyr."

Ychwanegodd, "Bydd y profiadau a gaiff ein myfyrwyr yn werthfawr tu hwnt, ac yn sicr o gymorth iddynt wrth fynd ati i chwilio am waith ar ôl gadael y coleg."

Dywedodd Cynhyrchydd Gweithredol Rownd a Rownd, Berwyn Rees: "Mae Rownd a Rownd yn gyflogwr pwysig i weithwyr y diwydiant teledu yng Ngogledd Cymru. Wrth i ni ddechrau ar y bartneriaeth bwysig hon gyda Choleg Menai, gobeithio y gallwn ysbrydoli'r genhedlaeth nesaf o weithwyr a dangos iddynt y cyfleoedd gwaith sydd ar gael yn y sector cyffrous hwn."

Students on Coleg Menai’s Creative Arts, Media, and Hair and Beauty courses will gain valuable industry experience working alongside the team at Rondo Media.

The students will spend a day in the studio of ‘Rownd a Rownd’ in Llangefni, and will also be mentored beforehand to support their understanding of working on a professional TV set, as well as to answer any questions.

Roles that the students will have the chance to undertake will vary from actors, sound technicians and camera operators, to directors, editors, and hair and make-up artists.

It is hoped that the project will take place twice a year, once in the Autumn term and once in the Spring term - providing plenty of opportunity for students to participate.

Fflur Rees Jones, Assistant Principal at Coleg Menai, said, “We are extremely excited to work with Rondo Media and are very grateful to them for providing our students with this fantastic opportunity.”

She added, “The experience our students will gain will be second to none, and will certainly support them when looking for work after college”.

Rownd a Rownd Executive Producer, Bedwyr Rees, said: “Rownd a Rownd is an important employer for television industry workers in North Wales. As we embark on this important partnership with Coleg Menai, we can inspire the next generation of employees and hopefully show them the employment opportunities available in this exciting sector of work.”
