Grŵp Llandrillo Menai yn ennill achrediad Arweinwyr mewn Amrywiaeth

Mae Grŵp Llandrillo Menai wedi llwyddo i ennill gwobr Arweinwyr mewn Amrywiaeth.

Mae’r wobr yn cydnabod ymrwymiad y Grŵp i annog cydraddoldeb, amrywiaeth a chynhwysiant.

Daw'r achrediad mawreddog gan y Ganolfan Genedlaethol ar gyfer Amrywiaeth. Mae’n gwobrwyo gwaith y Grŵp i sicrhau bod ei golegau mor gynhwysol a chefnogol â phosibl i staff a myfyrwyr.

Meddai Dafydd Evans, Prif Weithredwr Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, “Rydym yn hynod falch o gael ein cydnabod fel gweithle cynhwysol, ac rydym yn ymfalchïo mewn sicrhau bod ein cydweithwyr yn teimlo eu bod yn cael eu gwerthfawrogi a’u parchu.

“Mae’r wobr Arweinwyr mewn Amrywiaeth yn brawf o’r gwaith caled rydym i gyd yn ei wneud yma yng Ngrŵp Llandrillo Menai.”

Dywedodd Solat Chaudhry, Prif Weithredwr y Ganolfan Genedlaethol ar gyfer Amrywiaeth, fod Grŵp Llandrillo Menai yn un o ddim ond 80 o sefydliadau ledled y DU i ennill yr achrediad y mae galw mawr amdano.

The award recognises the Grŵp’s commitment to encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion.

The prestigious accreditation comes from the National Centre for Diversity. It rewards the Grŵp’s work to ensure its colleges are as inclusive and supportive as possible to staff and students.

“The Leaders in Diversity award is great testament to the hard work that we all carry out here at Grŵp Llandrillo Menai.”

Mae'r wobr yn cydnabod y camau a gymerwyd gan y Grŵp wrth weithredu gwerthoedd FREDIE (tegwch, parch, cydraddoldeb, amrywiaeth, cynhwysiant ac ymgysylltiad).

“Rydym i gyd yn gwybod nad yw FREDIE yn ymwneud â gwneud y peth iawn yn unig - mae bellach yn bwnc sy'n denu a dal diddordeb myfyrwyr a staff y coleg.

He said: “Congratulations to all the teams and leaders at Grŵp Llandrillo Menai who contributed to the successful completion of Leaders in Diversity - they are leading lights.

“The college clearly evidenced its processes and was able to win the hearts and minds of the teams and change behaviours. This captures the essence behind our accreditation and the college’s achievement is inspirational.

“Grŵp Llandrillo Menai is one of only 80 organisations to be given the prestigious accreditation.”

The award recognises the strides made by the Grŵp in implementing the values of FREDIE (fairness, respect, equality, diversity, inclusion and engagement).

Mr Chaudhry said: “Working towards gaining the assessment over the past year involved a survey of the attitudes of all of the staff and managers and included some of its suppliers.

“We all know that FREDIE is not just about doing the right thing - it is now a compelling subject for students and college staff.

He said: “Congratulations to all the teams and leaders at Grŵp Llandrillo Menai who contributed to the successful completion of Leaders in Diversity - they are leading lights.

“The college clearly evidenced its processes and was able to win the hearts and minds of the teams and change behaviours. This captures the essence behind our accreditation and the college’s achievement is inspirational.

Ychwanegodd: "Drwy ymrwymo’n llwyr i'r rhaglen Arweinwyr mewn Amrywiaeth, mae’r Grŵp wedi dangos ymrwymiad gwirioneddol a phendant i FREDIE, ac i welliant parhaus o fewn y maes hwn".

“Rydym yn hyderus y bydd staff a myfyrwyr Grŵp Llandrillo Menai yn parhau i weithio ar wella ac addasu ac edrychwn ymlaen at weithio gyda nhw yn y blynyddoedd i ddod.”

Amlygodd adroddiad y Ganolfan Genedlaethol ar gyfer Amrywiaeth y camau cadarnhaol a wnaed gan y Grŵp, gan gynnwys:

  • Sefydlu grŵp cefnogi staff LHDTC+
  • Cynnal digwyddiad Sefydlu Arweinyddiaeth Ddu, a arweiniodd at gydberthynas â’r Grŵp Arweinyddiaeth Du a datblygu Cynllun Gweithredu Gwrth-hiliaeth 10 Pwynt
  • Hyfforddi gweithwyr mewn Ymwybyddiaeth o Hiliaeth, Ymwybyddiaeth Drawsryweddol, Cefnogi Dysgwyr LHDT+, ac Ymwybyddiaeth o'r Menopos
  • Datblygu Canolfan Lles Staff a grŵp llywio
  • Addasiadau ffisegol i wneud y coleg yn hygyrch i bawb, gan gynnwys toiledau hygyrch, toiled dibyniaeth uchel a drysau mynediad awtomataidd.
  • Achrediad Cyflogwr Hyderus o ran Anabledd, gyda chanfyddiadau’r grŵp ffocws anabledd yn cael eu cyflwyno i Banel Cydraddoldeb y Grŵp
  • Cynnydd tuag at ennill statws Sefydliad sy'n Ymwybodol o Awtistiaeth

Nododd yr adroddiad hefyd fod disgwyl i’r Grŵp ymddangos eto ar restr flynyddol y Ganolfan Genedlaethol ar gyfer Amrywiaeth o’r 100 cyflogwr mwyaf cynhwysol, a gyhoeddir yn ddiweddarach eleni.

“Organisations that achieve this award recognise there is a compelling case to be made for valuing FREDIE in the workplace. Operating in a challenging environment marketplace means organisations like Grŵp Llandrillo Menai succeed by making the best of all their skills and talents, irrespective of their background.”

He added: “By engaging wholeheartedly with the Leaders in Diversity programme, they have demonstrated a real and tangible commitment to FREDIE and to continuous improvement in this area.

“We are confident that staff and students at Grŵp Llandrillo Menai will continue to work on improving and adapting and look forward to working with them in years to come.”

The report from National Centre for Diversity highlighted positive strides made by the Grŵp, including:

● Establishing an LGTBQ+ staff support group

● Holding a Black Leadership Induction event, which led to affiliation with the Black Leadership Group and the development of an Anti-racist 10-Point Action Plan

● Training of employees in Racism Awareness, Transgender Awareness, Supporting LGBT+ Learners, and Menopause Awareness

● The development of a Staff Wellbeing Hub and steering group

● Physical adaptations to make the college accessible to all, including accessible toilets, a high dependency toilet and automated entrance doors.

● Disability Confident Employer status, with findings from a disability focus group presented to the Grŵp’s Equality Panel

● Progress towards achieving Autism Aware Organisation status

The report also said the Grŵp is expected to again appear in The National Centre for Diversity’s annual list of the top 100 most inclusive employers, which will be announced later this year.
