Grŵp Llandrillo Menai’s Students’ Union is affiliated to the National Union of Students (NUS) and all students are automatically entitled to become members of the Students' Union, benefiting from its affiliation with the NUS.

Grŵp Llandrillo Menai has three elected Students' Union Presidents, one at each college: Coleg Llandrillo, Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor and Coleg Menai. Students' Union Presidents are elected towards the end of each academic year and take up their appointments in September.

As well as three Students' Union Presidents, the Students' Union also has an elected HE Student Union President to represent the interests of Higher Education students. These Student Union Officers work with both College staff and students. They contribute to College committees, open forums and learner panels and represent learners on the Board of Governors.

The Students’ Union swept the boards at the recent NUS Wales Awards 2020 in Aberystwyth, winning 4 out of 8 awards! Grŵp Llandrillo Menai’s Students’ Union were recognised nationally for the third consecutive year, as the Further Education Students’ Union of the Year in Wales. NUS Wales recognised the hard work of the Students’ Union in their student enrichment campaigning activities, engaging with over 3,000 learners in one academic term, over 12 campuses and four counties.

The College is fortunate in being one of only a few Further Education Colleges to have a Students’ Union with paid Students’ Union President posts.
