A team of 11 members of staff from across Grŵp Llandrillo Menai are lacing up their running shoes and preparing to push their physical limits to the edge by taking on the Coast-to-Care Relay, a gruelling multi-stage charity event organised to raise vital funds for Alder Hey Children’s Charity and Ysbyty Gwynedd.

Award-winning veterinary nurse Catrina Sheltinga never expected she would achieve her goal of working in the veterinary industry, but has now been recognised with top honours after returning to education later in life.

Busnes@LlandrilloMenai has marked National Apprenticeship Week by celebrating the achievements of 18 apprentices and employers during the North Wales Apprenticeship Awards, held on 4 February 2026 at Venue Cymru.

McKenzie is an apprentice with RWE, studying at our Wind Turbine Workshop in the Engineering Centre on our Rhyl campus. Through his apprenticeship, McKenzie combines hands-on training in renewable energy with real-world industry experience, developing the technical skills and knowledge needed for a career in the mechanical and electrical engineering sector.

Malcolm Tidswell, Section Head Leisure Services at Ffit Conwy, has been named Overall Apprentice of the Year 2026 at the North Wales Work Based Learning Awards, held at Venue Cymru on 4 February.

Cyngor Gwynedd and Busnes@LlandrilloMenai are working together on an exciting new council-led initiative, Academi Gofal Gwynedd that is training individuals to become Care Managers, Occupational Therapists or Social Workers.
