Full-time (Further Education)

Coming to college could change your life! Our students tell us that the superb facilities, the new friendships they made and the support they received from tutors made college a fantastic experience, and helped them to achieve goals they never thought were possible.

Whether you’re wondering what to do after your GCSEs, lack the qualifications needed to get a better job or to go to university, or simply want to learn more about a subject that’s always interested you, we’re here to help.

If you study with us, you will follow your own Programme for Learning, made up of:

  • A vocational qualification (e.g. NVQ, BTEC), or
  • A number of AS/A2 subjects

Your programme may also include:

  • The Welsh Baccalaureate
  • Literacy and numeracy qualifications
  • Additional vocational qualifications

Welsh Baccalaureate:

Welsh Baccalaureate is a valuable qualification which is often studied alongside your full-time course.

The qualification is graded A*-E, carrying the equivalent UCAS points at Level 3, and equips you with transferable personal and business skills. It is highly regarded by universities and employers alike.

As part of the qualification, you will learn about Global Citizenship, Enterprise and Employability and take part in community engagement and work experience.

Sohaib Hassan

A Levels - Rhyl Sixth

A Rhyl Sixth A-level student is rejoicing after receiving an unconditional offer from Oxford University to study for a combined degree in English Literature and English Language!

18-year-old Sohaib Hassan from Rhyl gained an impressive set of A-levels last summer - English Literature (A*), Drama (A), Psychology (A) and Welsh Baccalaureate (A) - and is currently studying for an extra A-level (in History), over just one year, where he is predicted to achieve yet another a A* or A.

Sohaib moved from Surrey to North Wales in the summer of 2017. Following his three years at Oxford, he is aiming for a career in screenwriting, acting or directing - or the position of Minister for Education! A keen student of drama and fine art, he has performed in countless school plays and musical theatre shows.

"I am really enjoying my studies at Rhyl Sixth. The course and tutors are amazing, and I feel more independent without the loss of support.

"Considering my socio-economic background, I would say if I can do it anyone can. Hard work, ambition and passion will take you anywhere.”
