Marine Technology

Subjects include woodwork, glassreinforced plastic, mechanical systems, propulsion systems and marine electronics.

During the year, specialist courses are organised, such as RYA, diesel engine and VHF courses. Away from the campus, students are given the opportunity to operate, pilot and navigate vessels and to develop their seamanship.

Building on the knowledge I gained at college, I was able to undertake work experience at a wide range of organisations around the UK and Brittany in France! I now teach sailing and seamanship to young people for the charity - Island Trust.
