Children’s Development & Education

Childcare workers are increasingly in demand. These key roles help to support the wellbeing and development of our nation's young people.

Which level and course is right for me?

We offer the largest number of further and higher education courses in North Wales: from Level 1 up to Degrees. We also offer Apprenticeships.

Here is a simple guide that explains the levels, courses and progression routes available to you.

Our courses will provide you with the knowledge and practical skills for working within this exciting sector.

Having worked in a range of early years settings and roles themselves, our lecturers are experts in their field, and are able to pass on this expertise, alongside their teaching. In addition, we draw upon our extensive links to give you access to information and opportunities which aren’t typically available via other routes.

We work closely with a variety of organisations including local authorities, childcare and nursery providers, charitable organisations and organisations such as Medrwn Mon, Flying Start, Mynediad Meithrin and many more. Through these we are able to access high-quality work placements, sector insight and guest speakers.

Every year our learners successfully progress into work in the sector, or onto further study at a higher level. Many learners progress to university – either on one of the courses offered here at college or to other universities throughout the UK. Some learners also choose to progress to one of our apprenticeship routes.

Job opportunities this in this area include roles such as Learning Support Assistant, Nursery Worker in the public & independent sectors, Play Therapist, Speech & Language Therapist or Social Worker.
