Former student Reaches Final of 'Cân i Gymru'
Dafydd Dabson, a former student of Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor, will have his song performed at the national competition on S4C this weekend.
Dafydd, who now lives in Cardiff, has been composing music since he was at school, and has been in several bands. He also competed in the Cân i Gymru competition in 2018 with the song 'Dwi'm yn dy nabod di'.
This year, his song 'Chdi sy’n mynd i wneud y byd yn well', will be performed by Bryn Hughes Williams.
The competition, broadcast live from the Arts Centre, Aberystwyth, on 3 March on S4C, will be presented by Elin Fflur and Trystan Ellis-Morris.
Gwenno Pritchard, A Level Music lecturer at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor said,
"We love hearing about the success of our former students, and I'd like to congratulate Dafydd on his achievement of reaching the final 8 of the Cân i Gymru competition. We are looking forward to hearing the song and and wish him all the best."
