Lecturer in Bricklaying or Plastering
Job Purpose The Construction Department at Coleg Meirion Dwyfor is a forward-thinking department offering courses across a range of construction disciplines. Teaching and learning take place using industry-standard equipment and within modern facilities. The Construction provision is based at CaMDA (Dolgellau). We are seeking a full-time, permanent member of staff to join the College’s Construction Department. We are keen to appoint an enthusiastic and committed individual with experience within the construction industry, specifically in Bricklaying or Plastering. Applications will be considered from candidates from either trade, and the teaching timetable will be adapted to reflect the skills and experience of the successful applicant. The department delivers a broad range of provision including full-time courses, part-time courses, apprenticeships and the 14–16 curriculum. At present, we have a strong team of Construction lecturers specialising in plumbing, bricklaying, carpentry and general construction, alongside practical skills instructors in areas including plumbing, bricklaying, carpentry and plastering, as well as staff working specifically with apprenticeship provision. We are seeking a member of staff who will complement this provision and contribute to the ongoing development of the department. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver high standards of teaching and learning and to provide ongoing support, advice and guidance to learners that promote success. Ensure that the Grŵp’s policies and procedures are followed. 5. Supporting learners to succeed in order to achieve their targets or higher, challenging and stretching our learners. |
