CIPD Associate Diploma in People Management

Professional

Course Description

The Associate Diploma in People Management is a new qualification released by The Chartered Institute of Personnel Development, which you can choose to study online at Grwp Llandrillo-Menai

It is aimed at professionals who want to, or are already in a management position within HR.

The course focuses on developing individual HR skills in contemporary human resource related subjects. Emphasis will be on how HR management links with organisational strategy and its integration with line management.

Studying a CIPD qualification at intermediate level will provide you with the knowledge required for new Associate professional level of CIPD membership. If you then have the relevant experience, you can apply for a membership assessment (assessing your workplace activities and behaviours).

If successful with the assessment, you’ll be upgraded to new Associate. In addition to the formal qualification, you will have gained an insight into the competencies and skills that are necessary to become a modern HR manager.

You will also have gained invaluable experience from others who have been on the course with you.

You will study the following subjects throughout the year. Each subject involves lots of classroom discussion and interaction amongst students. All modules are taught by experienced staff that have extensive, operational knowledge in their field.

  • 5C001 Organisational Performance and Culture in Practice

  • 5C002 Evidence Based Practice

  • 5C003 Professional Behaviours and Valuing People

  • 5HR01 Employment Relationship Management

  • 5HR02 Talent Management and Workforce Planning

  • 5HR03 Reward for Performance and Contribution

  • 5HR07 Well-being at Work

SEE (Skills for Employers & Employees) funding support is available for courses ending by 31/05/23. For further details including eligibility information, please contact us.

Apprenticeship

You can also study this courses as part of the human resource management higher apprenticeship.

Entry Criteria

It is preferable to have already achieved a Certificate level qualification from the CIPD or presently be in a HR role to enrol on this course. However, all applications will be considered on merit by the course leader. A formal interview will be required for all applicants prior to joining.

You will also be required to be in CIPD membership for the duration of the course. It is possible that membership is required for a second year. The current membership cost per year is £165 (subject to change by CIPD). This will be in addition to your course fees.

It will be necessary to confirm basic skill requirements and to confirm that all students are able to meet the assessment requirements of the course. Grŵp Llandrillo Menai recognises that some students may not have studied for some time, and as such, are able to support new students on an individual basis.

Delivery

The delivery of the Associate Diploma in People Management will combine a wide range of learning methods and is purely online.

Assessment

Each module is assessed through assignment work. There are no formal examinations for the course.

Progression

Further professional study could include the CIPD Advanced course in People Management available at other CIPD Centres.
