Higher Apprenticeship - Human Resource Management Level 5

Apprenticeships

Please contact us for further information about applying for this course.

Course Description

The Apprentice would study towards the CIPD Associate Diploma in People Management.

The Associate Diploma in People Management is a new qualification released by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development, which you can choose to study online at Grwp Llandrillo Menai.

It is aimed at professionals who want to, or are already in a management position within HR.

The course focuses on developing individual HR skills in contemporary human resource-related subjects. Emphasis will be on how HR management links with organisational strategy and its integration with line management.

Studying a CIPD qualification at intermediate level will provide you with the knowledge required for new Associate professional level of CIPD membership. If you then have the relevant experience, you can apply for a membership assessment (assessing your workplace activities and behaviours).

If successful with the assessment, you’ll be upgraded to new Associate. In addition to the formal qualification, you will have gained an insight into the competencies and skills that are necessary to become a modern HR manager.

You will also have gained invaluable experience from others who have been on the course with you.

You will study the following subjects throughout the year. Each subject involves lots of classroom discussion and interaction amongst students. All modules are taught by experienced staff that have extensive, operational knowledge in their field.

  • 5C001 Organisational Performance and Culture in Practice
  • 5C002 Evidence-based Practice
  • 5C003 Professional Behaviours and Valuing People
  • 5HR01 Employment Relationship Management
  • 5HR02 Talent Management and Workforce Planning
  • 5HR03 Reward for Performance and Contribution
  • SO507 Well-being at Work

The apprenticeship is also made up of Essential Skills in Application of Number, Communication and Digital Literacy Level 2, however, there are some exemptions for these.

Entry Criteria

You must be employed in a HR role and have an employer who’ll support you. The Apprenticeship is suitable for a variety of HR roles, including HR Executive, HR Officer, Assistant HR Manager and Assistant HR Advisor.

It is preferable to have already achieved a Certificate level qualification from the CIPD, however, all applications will be considered on merit by the course leader. A formal interview will be required for all applicants prior to joining.

You will also be required to be in CIPD membership for the duration of the course. It is possible that membership is required for a second year. The current membership cost per year is £135 (subject to change by CIPD).

It will be necessary to confirm basic skill requirements and to confirm that all students are able to meet the assessment requirements of the course. Grŵp Llandrillo Menai recognises that some students may not have studied for some time, and as such, are able to support new students on an individual basis.

Delivery

The delivery of the Associate Diploma in People Management will combine a wide range of learning methods and is purely online.

Essential Skills are delivered online. College attendance is required for the test.

Assessment

Each module of the Diploma is assessed through assignment work.

Essential Skills are assessed through tasks and tests.
