Job Description

• To ensure that the customer is at the centre of everything we do.

• Undertake, either as part of a team or alone, the cleaning of designated areas to ensure they are kept in a clean and hygienic condition.

• To work in a safe and efficient manner, treating all customers and colleagues in a fair and respectful manner.

Main Duties

• Cleaning, washing, dusting, sweeping and vacuum cleaning as necessary.

• Safe use of electrical equipment when necessary.

• Safe use of chemicals.

• Adherence to any dilution procedures and the Method Statement.

• Emptying litter and recycling bins.

• Use of appropriate PPE when using potentially abrasive/harmful equipment/chemicals.

• Polishing of any designated areas including furniture, mirrors and fixtures.

• Cleaning kitchens, bedrooms, toilets and bath/shower areas, replenishing toilet paper/soap as necessary and if required.

• Up-to-date awareness of health and safety procedures.

• When lifting any equipment, to follow necessary procedures.

• Removal of any items to be washed (bedding, towels, tea towels, oven gloves).

• To make beds and replace laundered items in a neat and presentable fashion.

• To wash dishes up if needed, ensure welcome/hospitality packs are in place.

• Report to the manager if guest belongings have been left or if any items in the property have been damaged. I.e. shortages, breakages, damaged equipment.

• Willingness to participate in any training for self-development if offered.

• Basic maintenance if required (replace batteries in remotes and check lights are working).

Responsibilities

• Report to the manager if any problems arise.

• Maintenance of cleaning equipment - alert the manager if a replacement is needed.

• Report to the manager when supplies need replenishing (welcome/hospitality packs, toiletry items and cleaning solutions).

• 1 year of previous cleaning experience is preferred but not vital.

• Current, clean, valid UK Driving Licence and own car

Hourly rate of pay for over 18 is £12 and over 21 is £14.

The cleaning roles available are full time, part time and fixed positions in commercial and holiday let settings.
