Course Description

This engaging vocational course is aimed at individuals who have a keen interest to learn about vehicle maintenance and develop the relevant skills.

This course is practical and hands-on. You will perform tasks in industry standard workshops to develop a wide range of vehicle maintenance and associated skills including; basic hand skills, maintenance techniques, fabrication & welding.

At the Llangefni campus you will study this course as part of the Engineering Craft Level 1. You can apply to study this course at the Llangefni Campus here.

Entry Criteria

3 GCSEs at grade E or above, and either of the following:

Show a keen interest in the subject
Successful completion of Level 1 School Link Programme

As part of the application process, you must attend an interview to discuss the course and demonstrate your interest.

If you don't achieve a C or above in Maths and/ or English/Welsh, we will support you to retake these subjects as part of your study programme.

Assessment

The programme will be assessed through a blend of the following:

Practical assessment
Online assessment
Oral questioning
Written questions
Short learner task sheets for you to complete independently

Progression

Successful completion of this course will give you the opportunity to progress to Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Level 2 or Foundation Apprenticeship Level 2 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Light).
