Course Description

This award is intended for qualified electricians who will be required to install grid connected domestic photovoltaic systems that are either integrated into, or retro onto, a domestic dwelling.

It is concerned with domestic systems installation within prescribed specifications and therefore does not cover design or glazed or curtain wall systems.

Entry Criteria

Candidates must be practising electricians, and have appropriate qualifications related to electrical installation such as an NVQ at level 3, knowledge of the IEE Wiring Regulations and inspection and testing.

Candidates must be employed within the electrical contracting industry.

Delivery

Candidates will gain the confidence to select, install, test and commission domestic solar photovoltaic systems.

Through the delivery of 2 Units, 8 modules and practical experience on purpose-built indoor rigs, you can develop skills and theory with a qualified trainer.

Assessment

Candidates must successfully complete both assessments.
