Course Description
You will learn how to:
- Follow basic hygiene procedures for producing baked goods
- Understand how to reduce the risk of cross contamination
- Prepare bake and finish a variety of home baked goods
- Produce baked goods using a range of methods such as:
- Rubbing in
- Melting method
- Whisking
- Creaming
- Examples of the types of baked goods include:
- Lemon Drizzle
- Ginger bread
- Classic sponge
- Scones
- Swiss roll
- Basic biscuits
There may also be opportunity for learners to prepare and serve an afternoon tea to our lunch club members.
Entry Criteria
There are no entry requirements for this course.
If enrolling onto the intermediate course or preparing a two-course meal, it is expected that learners will have either completed one of our basic courses or they are already fairly competent in the kitchen.
