Course Description

This apprenticeship is specifically targeted at employees working in health and social care settings in the public and private sectors, for residential care, domiciliary agencies support workers and personal assistants. The Higher Apprenticeships (level 5) are available in Adults Advanced Practice, Adults Management and Adults Residential Management for practicing managers, deputy managers and supervisors within a management role.

Entry Criteria

All places are subject to satisfactory interview.

Delivery

Your assessor will visit you within your workplace on a regular basis and will also carry out direct observations of your practice during your normal daily routine.
You will attend monthly evening sessions.
Assignments will be completed away from the centre.

Assessment

At each level, the mandatory units consist of a mixture of both knowledge units and competence units.

The knowledge units will be covered by a set assignment.

The competence units will be a mixture of knowledge, understanding and skills, which means that some part of that unit will have to be directly observed by the assessor, in order to see the learner’s practice within the workplace during normal routine.

The learner will complete a workbook for that unit as discussed and agreed with the assessor.

Apprentices will attend college sessions in order to complete Essential Skills Qualification tasks in Communication, Application of Number and Digital Literacy. This is an essential part of the qualification.
