Course Description

If you enjoyed GCSE Science and want to explore how scientific techniques are applied in real forensic work and crime investigation, the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Forensic and Criminal Investigation could be the ideal choice for you. This course combines classroom learning with hands-on practical experiments, helping you develop your skills in realistic workplace scenarios, tasks, and challenges.

You will also build a wide range of transferable skills that will support your progression into any career path. Highly valued by employers and universities, these skills provide a strong foundation for entering higher education or moving directly into employment.

This course consists of two separate qualifications. In your first year of study, you will work towards the Level 3 Foundation Diploma.

Following successful completion of this qualification, you will be able to progress to the Extended Diploma.

Our Extended Diplomas offer the equivalent UCAS points to studying 3 A Levels.

Entry Criteria

In order to qualify for this course, you will need at least one of the following:

  • 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English or Welsh 1st Language, Maths and Science
  • A relevant Level 2 qualification at Merit
  • Relevant industry experience
