Course Description

The aim of these apprenticeship frameworks is to provide employers in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors in Wales with a workforce who have the skills, knowledge and competency to support businesses through social media and digital marketing, so that they can contribute to making businesses more efficient and productive.

The growth in Social Media and Digital Marketing means that new staff need to be attracted to the industry, and existing staff need to be upskilled with the knowledge and experience to undertake social media and digital marketing roles in a range of business settings.

Social Media for Business Level 3
The social media route has a focus on managing and maintaining a social media network, assessing and minimising risks to your online presence, understanding keywords and Search Engine Optimisation as well as understanding social media advertising and promotion .

The Social Media for Business Level 3 Diploma is ideal for those who use social networking to attract and engage with current and potential customer, for example:

  • Social Media assistant
  • Community Engagement officer
  • CRM Manager
  • Web Designer
  • Social Media Marketing Manager

The qualification Includes:

Digital Marketing Level 3
The digital marketing route has a business focus within the mandatory units, allowing candidates to gain an understanding of business functions, sales funnels, customer journeys and sector definitions. The optional units are tailored to the candidates and can include; brand development, content marketing, email marketing, creating copy text for digital media, image editing software and principles of social media within a business (and much more).

The Digital Marketing Level 3 Diploma is ideal for those who use digital marketing to attract and engage with current and potential customers, for example:

  • Digital Marketing assistant
  • Community Engagement officer
  • CRM Manager
  • Web Designer
  • Digital Marketing Manager

This in depth qualification includes:

  • Principles and ethics of marketing
  • Metrics and analytics
  • Advertising and promotion across all digital platforms
  • Brand development
  • Practical tools for app, website and content creation

Entry Criteria

  • No formal qualifications are required, but experience in IT is desirable
  • Apprentices must have an employer or mentor who has relevant knowledge in the subject area and can offer on the job training.

All places are subject to satisfactory interview.

Delivery

  • Level 3 is undertaken in the workplace with potentially some attendance to college-based sessions to complete theory tasks and tests (if required).

  • Completion of a portfolio of evidence
  • Work-based observations
  • Theory-based tasks and tests

Progression

On completion of level 3, you can progress to a Higher Apprenticeship.
