Course Description

This course is aimed at those whose duty is to inspect and maintain ladders and stepladders in their workplace. The course will cover what delegates need to know about the law and standards relating to ladders and stepladders. They will have an understanding of storage and handling of ladders and stepladders.

Course topics include:

• learning how to assess and determine when it is appropriate to inspect a ladder and stepladder

• record finding and recommend action to be taken if faults are found

• accurately record details of ladders and stepladders

Attended a Ladder and Stepladder Used Course

Delivery

The course will be taught through a series of classroom sessions with slides where the trainer provides information and asks questions. There will be a group exercise on inspections and hazard analysis and an individual questionnaire on inspection of ladders and stepladders.

Assessment

There will be a closed book test with a pass mark of 80%.

Progression

A Ladder Association certificate and LadderCard will be issued to successful delegates who complete the theory and practical assessment sessions which has a 5 year validity period.
