Course Description
The course helps students develop the skills needed to work in a primary classroom. At Rhos-on-Sea and Prestatyn learners will spend 2 days per week learning in a community venue, and 1 additional day per week of work experience. In Holyhead and Caernarfon the work experience takes place at the end of the course.
Tutors will help students arrange their placements. Hours are child-friendly, totalling less than 16/17 hours per week.
The course is free, but students must complete a DBS check with the College which (currently) costs £44.

There are no entry requirements for this course.
Delivery
The course is delivered through a blend of the following:
- Lectures
- Presentations
- Group work
- Classroom-based learning
You will spend 2 days per week in the classroom: 9.30am–2.30pm.
You will also have a work placement in a school for 1 day a week, 5 hours per week, at times to suit the school.
Assessment
You will be assessed by portfolio.

- CACHE Classroom Assistants Level 2 (Certificate for Supporting Teaching and Learning in School)
