Course Description
A course for Teaching assistants lasting 4 hours. We will cover:
- Overview of the development of literacy and numeracy from pre-school age through to secondary school
- Understanding different phonic schemes and terminology associated with phonics
- Using the outdoor environment to promote literacy and numeracy
- Strategies and activities which will promote and develop these skills within a school environment
- Specific difficulties children may have with developing these skills such as Dyslexia/ Dyscalculia
- Effective intervention strategies
