Course Description
This course is for those who have some basic knowledge already and are looking to build on existing skills. You may have already completed the Cooking for Beginners or the Home Cooking Healthy Eating course.
You will learn how to:
- Follow basic hygiene procedures
- Understand how to reduce the risk of cross contamination
- Prepare ingredients using a range of preparation methods
- Cook ingredients following a range of cooking methods:
- Poach
- Grill
- Steam
- Boil
- Bake
- Present dishes ready for serving
- Prepare, cook, present and serve dishes
The types of dishes to be cooked will be discussed and agreed upon with the group at the start of the course.
Entry Criteria
There are no entry requirements for this course.
If enrolling onto the intermediate course or preparing a two-course meal, it is expected that learners will have either completed one of our basic courses or they are already fairly competent in the kitchen.
