Course Description
This course is open to all, ideally you will have completed the Home Cooking for Beginners course first or have some basic cooking skills already.
You will learn:
- An introduction to the healthy eating model for the UK including:
- A balanced diet
- Portion amounts
- Required portions for an adult per day/week
- Planning a healthy menu
- Healthy hydration
- How to prepare and cook home-cooked dishes from scratch such as:
- ‘Fakeaway’ dishes - healthy home-cooked versions of takeaway dishes
- Nutritious soups
- Meat free meals
- Batch cooking
- Desserts for healthy eating
Entry Criteria
There are no entry requirements for this course.
If enrolling onto the intermediate course or preparing a two-course meal, it is expected that learners will have either completed one of our basic courses or they are already fairly competent in the kitchen.
