Course Description
This course is open to anyone and is for complete beginners or those who want to build their confidence.
You will learn how to:
- keep yourself and others safe in the kitchen
- Prepare and cook home-cooked dishes from scratch such as:
- Simple pasta sauces
- Lasagne
- Cottage pie
- Risotto
- Soup
- Curry
- use different cooking methods e.g. boiling, grilling and baking
- reduce food waste
- Understand how to prepare food that is safe for those with allergies
Entry Criteria
There are no entry requirements for this course.
If enrolling onto the intermediate course or preparing a two-course meal, it is expected that learners will have either completed one of our basic courses or they are already fairly competent in the kitchen.
