Course Description

The training course includes

  • Introduction to safe isolation
  • Why is electricity so dangerous
  • Legislation, Regulations and Standards
  • Safe Isolation procedures
  • Devices suitable for the purpose of isolation
  • Consequences of not using safe isolation techniques

It is important for non-electrical personnel and managers to have a clear understanding of the legal requirements and practical implementation of safe isolation. This will ensure that they fully understand the process and the risks involved in failing to adopt these processes.

Course objectives of this training course are to enable delegates to meet the requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 in respect to safe isolation of electrical equipment and competence to prevent danger and injury. The course is run over 1 day.

The certificate will not lead to any qualification but will prove an understanding of the safe isolation process.
