Course Description

This award gives the learner an understanding of the application of the IET Wiring Regulations Eighteenth Edition (and amendment). It provides a facility for individuals working in the electrotechnical sector to develop and/or enhance their knowledge of the Requirements for Electrical Installations

This course supports both new and experienced electricians in developing the knowledge and confidence needed to interpret and apply the Regulations in real-world situations.

Entry Criteria

You will need to purchase the IET BS 7671:2018+A4:2026 (18th Edition, Amendment 4) Wiring Regulations, Requirements for Electrical Installations book (Orange)

Advantageous: NVQ Electrotechnical Level 3 or similar qualification (Previous awards such as C&G 236 Part 2 or "B" Certificate)

This course is primarily aimed at practising electricians; however, it is also very popular with allied professionals such as contracts managers, designers, electrical engineers, consultants, surveyors, and other related trades needing to update and enhance their understanding of the IET Wiring Regulations.

Directed learning with guided study of the wiring regulations.

Assessment

The qualification is assessed by the use of an EAL set and marked, on-screen, multiple-choice exam. The qualification assessment (and the qualification) is graded Pass (or Fail) only (2 hours on line exam 60 questions 60% pass mark)
