Course Description

BSL is the visual language used by the Deaf community in the UK. It has its own grammar and syntax, distinct from spoken English, and relies on facial expressions, hand shapes, and body movements to convey meaning.

It is not just a set of signs, but a rich, complete language that enables communication, fosters community, and promotes accessibility for Deaf individuals. It’s an essential tool for building inclusive environments, both in the workplace and beyond.

  • Introduction to BSL: Understand the basics of British Sign Language and the Deaf community
  • Key Signs: Learn essential signs for communication with customer interactions, and team collaboration
