Course Description

Adults employed within the construction/civil engineering industry who are looking at moving into a management role and require academic skills; adults who are looking for a career in construction management who are missing industry knowledge and experience; young adults (17+) who are aiming for a HE Apprenticeship in construction / civil engineering that don’t meet the HE Apprenticeship entry criteria.

The course includes four mandatory modules:

  • Construction Principles

  • Construction Design

  • Construction Technology

  • Health and Safety in Construction

Entry Criteria

  • 4 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English or Welsh 1st Language, Maths and Science/Technology based subjects
  • A relevant Level 2 qualification in construction
  • Relevant industry experience (this will be subject to entry interview)

As part of the application process, you will have the opportunity to discuss the course and your personal circumstances during the interview.

  • Lectures (including on campus and online).

  • Site visits (on site or virtual)

  • Field trips

  • Practical application of skills and knowledge

Assessment
