Course Description

Discover, explore, and create in this hands-on ceramics course designed to unlock your artistic potential through clay and mixed media. This exciting course combines technical skills with expressive freedom across a range of Agored units:

Investigate and Demonstrate the Use of Materials and Processes

Learn the foundations of working with clay and related materials. Explore hand-building techniques, surface decoration, and the transformation of materials through firing. This unit encourages experimentation while developing an understanding of health and safety, tools, and studio practice.

Art and Design: Exploratory Drawing – Media, Representation and Composition

Complement your ceramic practice with creative drawing. Use a range of drawing tools and media to explore composition, form, and representation. Develop observational skills and visual ideas that support your design process in ceramics.

Creating Glazed Ceramics

Bring your ceramic pieces to life with colour and texture. In this unit, you will apply glazing and finishing techniques to produce vibrant, durable artwork. Gain experience with kilns, firing processes, and the chemistry behind ceramic finishes.
