Course Description

This Level 3 certificate course teaches you to survey buildings, measure heat loss, and specify heat pump system needs. You will gain the skills to design compliant systems based on BS EN 12831, which is essential for accredited MCS installers. The course covers assessing property age and structure, understanding regulations for heat pump placement and noise, and performing heat loss calculations using manual and software methods

Delivery

Assessment

Assessment is based on a Pass/Fail qualification, requiring completion of all units. You will be assessed through:

  • A Portfolio of Evidence: Documents and records your calculations and surveys.
  • Demonstrations of manual & software heat-loss methods.
  • Showing how your work meets regulation & noise standards

Progression

Upon completion, you will gain a nationally recognised RQF Level 3 Certificate. This course prepares you for roles such as MCS designer, retrofit assessor, or energy assessor. You will have the ability to survey buildings, calculate heat loss, and specify heat pump systems
