Jobs Growth Wales+ (JGW+) is the new Welsh Government programme designed help 16 to 19 year olds progress into employment.

What is Jobs Growth Wales+?

Jobs Growth Wales+ (JGW+) is the new Welsh Government programme designed help 16 to 19 year olds progress into employment. You'll get free support tailored to your needs including mentoring, advice, training, work tasters or placements and job opportunities. We'll help you to develop skills, gain qualifications and work experience. You'll earn while you learn and boost your confidence too!

That’s where Jobs Growth Wales+ can help. It’s a great way to boost your confidence and get a taste of work you might be interested in. You’ll also have access to free training, work placements and paid jobs with employers in your area.

Am I eligible?

To be eligible for JGW+ training you must be:

  • aged between 16-19 years old
  • not in education, employment or training
  • a resident in Wales

You are ineligible if you are:

  • of compulsory school age
  • aged 20 years and over
  • attending school or college full-time as a pupil or student
  • in full-time higher education

How much will the training cost?

Nothing, the cost of the training is 100% funded by the Welsh Government.

You will receive:

  • a Training Allowance of up to £60 per week depending on attendance
  • a £3.90 per day lunch allowance
  • travel to and from Training centres and work experience placements
  • free breakfast club

Do I need any prior skills or qualifications?

No.
