New Multimillion Pound Animal Care Centre Delights Governors and Students Alike'

Grŵp Llandrillo Menai's Board of Governors recently had the opportunity to visit the brand new state-of-art Animal Care centre at the Grŵp's Glynllifon campus.

The new Animal Care Centre is a £3 million development that will house the college's animal care courses. The movement of all animals will begin in the next few weeks, with students starting their studies there from September 2021 onwards.

Martin Jardine, Director of Agri-Food, said:

“It is very exciting to see some of the old agricultural buildings of Glynllifon being refurbished for a new use in this way. The original buildings date back to the 1850s, and have been little used in recent decades.

“This development demonstrates Grŵp Llandrillo Menai's commitment to the agricultural sector, and in particular to the animal care sector here in the north west of Wales. This is a very significant investment and will offer our students the best possible teaching resources and equipment. ”

He added:

"We look forward to moving all our small animals to the new centre in the coming weeks, ready to welcome our students there from September."

Dafydd Evans, Chief Executive of Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, said.

“It was a privilege to welcome our Governors to visit the new Little Animal center in Glynllifon recently. This sector is a growth sector in the North Wales economy. Our hope is that it will pay dividends in jobs and opportunities over the coming decades. ”

He added:

“We hope to hold a ceremony to open the new center during the new academic term. In addition one of the main projects for the North Wales Growth Hub has been earmarked for Glynllifon, a £ 13m Rural Economy Boost. In the short term we as a Senior Management Team have approved a £ 30,000 scheme to develop the Glanrafon Hostel on the Glynllifon site. These developments demonstrate our commitment to the Glynllifon campus which will surely position Glynllifon as one of Wales' leading agricultural colleges. It's an exciting time to say the least ”
