Accessing Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA)
Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) is a weekly payment of £40 to help 16 to 18 year olds with the costs of further education.
Payments are made every 2 weeks as long as you meet your school or college’s attendance requirements.

Further Education Finance
Welsh Government Learning Grant: FE
Welsh Government Learning Grant FE is an income-assessed grant that aims to encourage more people to continue with their education.
It provides funding to help with the costs of your education if you’re aged 19 or over. If you’re studying full-time you could get payments of up to £1,919 a year or, if studying part-time, you could get up to £959 a year.

Financial Contingency Fund (FCF)
The Financial Contingency Fund can help towards the purchasing essential equipment, PPE and other related costs to your course. You may also be eligible for support to help pay towards your costs of a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service - formerly CRB) checks (subject to course requirements), educational visits, transport and childcare.
If you are aged 16 to 18, have previously received Free School Meals and your household is in receipt of Universal Credit you will be eligible to receive up to a maximum of £19.50 a week towards purchasing lunch whilst at college.
We also have a grant to help buy ICT equipment that is essential for your course.
