Course Description
Environmental Sustainability Skills for the Workforce is an introductory one-day course that gives all employees or staff in any job role a practical introduction to environmental sustainability.
It’s designed for non-environmental specialists, particularly those working at an operational level, to build awareness, understanding, and motivation so that sustainability becomes embedded throughout their organisation.
The certificate provides a recognised credential that demonstrates foundational environmental awareness, which helps in performance, compliance, and career development.
- Learning outcomes include understanding:
• the main environmental and economic risks and opportunities;
• compliance obligations and business drivers for change;
• the potential impacts on environment and sustainability;
• ways to improve environmental performance.
Entry Criteria
No prior knowledge or experience in sustainability or environmental management is required.
Suitable for staff at any level, especially operational roles across all sectors.
Delivery
Remote on-line (Tutor Led) Classroom-based.
Duration is typically 7 hours (one day).
Assessment
Assessment is via an online multiple-choice exam/test at the end of the course.
Learners typically need to pass the test (often with a pass mark of about 70%) to receive certification.
Progression
After completing this course, learners may move on to more advanced sustainability/environmental qualifications. For example: Environmental Sustainability Skills for Managers and/ or Foundation Certificate in Sustainability & Environmental Management.
The certificate provides a recognised credential that demonstrates foundational environmental awareness, which helps in performance, compliance, and career development.
