Former Student Returns to Grŵp Llandrillo Menai as a Lecturer after Completing “Brilliant” PGCE
A former student who always dreamt of standing at the front of the classroom has fulfilled her ambition by returning to Grŵp Llandrillo Menai as a lecturer after completing her Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
Jodie-Anne Davies, who originally graduated with a BA (Hons) in Hospitality in 2017, returned to the Grŵp last academic year to pursue her passion for teaching. During her PGCE studies, she gained hands-on experience delivering lessons in Hospitality and Business.
Reflecting on her time on the course, Jodie praised the dedicated support she received from the teaching team.
“The course was brilliant, I loved it,” Jodie said. “The tutors Leslie and Mel were fantastic and really supportive.”
Her training experience was made even more special by the familiar faces around her.
“Glen was my mentor, so that was great,” she added. “It was really nice to work with tutors who had taught me over the years.”
Having successfully completed her qualification, Jodie has joined the Grŵp as a full-time member of staff. She now teaches Travel & Tourism, Welsh Baccalaureate, and Business across both further education and higher education.
“The course flew by and I can’t believe I’m back here,” Jodie said. “I always wanted to teach and loved the training aspect. It’s great to be back.”
