Blood Bikes Wales announced as Grŵp Llandrillo Menai’s Charity of the Year

Students at Grŵp Llandrillo Menai have chosen Blood Bikes Wales as their Charity of the Year.

In a vote organised by this year’s Student Union Presidents, learners across all campuses selected the Blood Bikes Wales courier service as the Grŵp’s Charity of the Year.

Blood Bikes Wales is a 100% volunteer charity based in Wales, providing completely free courier service to the NHS, delivering blood samples, plasma, donated human milk, documents and other items all over Wales. The charity relies solely on volunteers and donations.

Cai Jones, Student Union President at Coleg Llandrillo, said: We are really happy to be partnering with Blood Bank this year. It’s a charity fully funded by volunteers and we can’t wait to raise vital funds for them to help keep this important work going.

“I am looking forward to our dedicated charity weeks, during which we will promote the Blood Bikes and share information about their work, operational practices and how we can help.”

Aaron Beacher, the Grŵp’s Student Enrichment Officer, said: “Our shared goal is to raise awareness about the work of the charity and raise as much as we can during the next academic year. Our fundraising is very student-led, they will guide us on the types of events that they want to do. I expect some interesting ideas to surface during our next meeting.”
