A-Level Law students at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor, recently had the opportunity to visit the Welsh Parliament virtually.
Students learned about the development and history of the Senedd from Welsh Government Officer, Mari Gooberman and Caryl Mai Hughes. The constitutional role, legal powers and laws of the Welsh parliament were discussed in a virtual presentation. At the end of the presentation, the students had the opportunity to take a virtual guided tour of the Senedd.
Louise Harding, A-Level Law tutor, said.
"Offering valuable opportunities like this to our students, even in times of a global pandemic, is an integral part of the College's ethos and way of working."
"Some of these students will go on to study Law at university, so having this initial understanding of the work of the Welsh Parliament, as one of our country's leading legislative institutions, is extremely important."
"We thank Mari and Caryl for their wonderful presentation, and I really hope, as Mari noted in her presentation, that some of our students will be working as legal officers in the Senedd inyears to come, and in knowing the students , I have no doubt about that at all - it's bound to happen. "
