This year, 27 outstanding A-level students from Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor applied to the Aberystwyth University Entrance Exams, with an amazing 22 of these have received offers!

Seven students from Dolgellau, Pwllheli and Glynllifon campuses have been offered the Merit Award which promises £1,000 to the student in their first year of study, and is awarded by Aberystwyth University.  15 have received unconditional offers from the university.

Large numbers of Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor students progress to Aberystwyth University every year and the bespoke scholarship that these students have been offered represents the good relationship between the two education bodies and the strong commitment to develop this further in the future.

Bethan Owen-Hughes, the General Education Programme Area Manager for Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor fully recognises the significance of both the financial support from the University and the promise of an unconditional place, she said:

Working together with the Universities in Wales has enriched the opportunities of the A-level students across Glynllifon, Dolgellau and Pwllheli. We were extremely proud of our students for achieving such good grades and therefore receiving these offers from Aberystwyth University. It's fantastic that so many can look forward to attending the University next year!
