Independent Living Students (ILS) have brightened up Llangefni campus with a large colourful mural.

ILS students have created a beautiful site-responsive mural for the college garden. The mural has been painted on the side of a container which houses the horticulture and gardening equipment and would have otherwise been an eyesore. The artwork was designed by the students with the help of college lecturer Mike Murray, who said:

The students worked hard and kept an open mind to what the final piece would look like.

The students initially created their own personal designs inspired by the French post-impressionist painter Henri Rousseau and Vincent Van Gogh and then developed these designs.

The students have carried out a wide variety of skills in order to create the work, Photoshop was used to help overlay drawn designs onto the container then the learners, with the help of their lecturer, decided which design to go with. The department then bought a batch of masonry paint, mixed their own range of tones and hues to work onto the design. Eifiona Wyn Williams the department Manager commented that:

This project has been a fantastic team work opportunity for the learners.

The mural has been painted through collaboration, perseverance and imagination, and it's certainly a delight to behold.
