Second year A' Level students at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor's Dolgellau campus recently carried out a litterpick of the Marian playing fields and paths near college as part of the 'Community Challenge' aspect of their Welsh Baccalaureate course, which provides students with a greater understanding of what it means to be an active citizen.
With this in mind, the students decided to become actively involved in contributing towards improving the community by extending the litterpick to the Mawddach Trail, a main pathway linking the footpath to Dolgellau and which is regularly used by Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor students, college visitors, tourists, local community and staff.
This activity was supported by Gwynedd Council's Tidy Towns Officer, Jonathan Neale; Gwynedd Council's Meirionnydd Street Enforcement Warden, Mark Mortimer; Cllr Linda Morgan; and Chairperson of the Marian Trustees, Cllr Heilyn Williams. The students thanked Cllr Linda Morgan and their tutor, Barbara Morgan for their support.
