College Celebrates St David's Day
Grŵp Llandrillo Menai students celebrated St. David's Day by hosting a series of events and promotions at the Coleg Llandrillo, Coleg Menai and Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor campuses, in aid of the student unions' chosen charity for the year, Mind Cymru.
Staff and students gave donations to wear Welsh-themed costumes, including football shirts, rugby shirts and traditional dress. Hospitality students put together a St. David's Day themed menu for staff in the Bistro Restaurant at the Rhos-on-Sea campus.
There was a Coeden Cymru/Wales tree at all campus reception areas where staff and students could write messages pertaining to the theme of "What does Wales mean to you?".
There were a range of Welsh bands and singers, including Pyroclastig and Awen Williams, performing across several campuses.
Staff sold a range of freshly-baked Welsh produce at stands across the colleges, much to the delight of the students. There were also Welsh-themed poetry events and Welsh dragon face painting taking place, to a soundtrack of live harp playing.
