Grŵp Llandrillo Menai students were treated to an exclusive gig and music workshop recently by a popular Canadian rock band!

The music students at Coleg Menai's Bangor Campus couldn't believe their luck when Double Experience came in to the college to discuss how to succeed in the international music scene. Double Experience also entertained the students with their energetic set!

The Canadian rock band are currently on their UK tour and promoting their new album 'Unsaved Progress'. The band popped in to Coleg Menai ahead of their Bangor gig as part of the Curiad Bangor Pulse Festival.

Dafydd Cartwright, Double Experience's drummer, is originally from Denbigh and is now living in Canada and touring the world with the rock band.

Brock Tinsley, Double Experience's guitarist commented "In an era of extensive government cuts to music education, Double Experience and our label Colfax Rock take great pride in sharing our story with young musicians across the world. As part of the labels EducaTOUR program roster artists have visited over 25,000 students in High Schools and Youth Clubs. Our hope is that we provide students with enough insight that they feel as confident as we did to pursue a lifelong career in music."

Paul Edwards, Creative Media Manager, was delighted by the special visit from Double Experience. He beamed, "It was such a fantastic opportunity for our students to chat to Double Experience and to watch them perform at a private gig at Coleg Menai. A lot of the students couldn't believe that such a famous band were ready to share their experiences with them and offer them guidance for their music careers."

Double Experience are touring the UK until the end of May. For further information, please visit:
