Director of Commercial and Work Based Learning

Are you a visionary leader passionate about employer-led skills, regional economic growth, improving people’s futures by delivering skilled jobs and prosperity through employer-led education and training? Then this is your opportunity to lead a major directorate within Grŵp Llandrillo Menai. As the Grŵp’s Director of Commercial and Work-Based Learning (WBL), you will head Busnes@LlandrilloMenai—our specialist, employer-facing arm.

Busnes@LlandrilloMenai is one of the three core delivery arms of Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, working alongside Further Education and Higher Education to provide a specialist, employer-facing service that drives skills, workforce development and economic growth across North Wales. Within Busnes@, activity is delivered through three directorates: Land-based, Commercial Contracts and Data, and Commercial and Work-Based Learning Delivery.

In this role, you’ll lead apprenticeship delivery, champion bilingual and Welsh-medium Work Based Learning provision, and build strong partnerships with employers to understand their skills needs and respond with high-quality, innovative training solutions.

From apprenticeships to short courses and micro-learning to specialist workforce development and large-scale funded projects, your leadership will help businesses grow stronger and support a thriving regional economy.

The role also carries a strong external leadership profile. The post holder will act as a visible advocate for Busnes@ and the Grŵp, building influential partnerships with employers, and key stakeholders, such as the Regional Skills Partnership, Medr, Welsh Government, Colegau Cymru and Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol.
