 Hours: 37 Hours a Week

 Salary: Salary £19,398 – £20,903

(progression to grade 5/6 post qualification £25,481 - £32,910)

 Location: Bangor, Gwynedd.

The North Wales Society of the Blind has an exciting opportunity for - A new trainee Rehabilitation

Officer to be part of their dedicated team supporting the delivery of high quality services for blind

and partially sighted people in North Wales.

Working alongside colleagues in Social services in Gwynedd and Anglesey, you will assist in

carrying out holistic person-centred assessments of need and provide rehabilitation programmes for

orientation and mobility, communication and independent living skills for people who have sight

loss.

In year 1 You will work closely with Rehabilitation team to develop the skills and knowledge required

to complete a FdSc qualification in Rehabilitation work in partnership with the University of

Birmingham.

During Year 2 and 3 you will attend university for up to 12 formal teaching weeks per year, as well

as complete work placements, whilst continuing to develop competence in practice as part of the

rehabilitation team.

After completing the qualification there is a requirement to commit to working as a qualified

Rehabilitation Officer with the NWSB for a minimum of two years.
