Trainee Communications Support Officer

Provide editorial support for both external and internal publicity, including staff and public newsletters.

Draft and issue press releases on behalf of the Authority; and assist services in their preparation.

Provide support in preparing and posting information on the Authority’s social media channels; and liaising with services to prepare response to public enquiries via social media.

Respond to press and media requests - liaising with senior officers and elected members to provide official comment and statements.

Continue to foster constructive media relations and assist with organising media interviews and briefings as and when required.

Prepare and present appropriate messages to staff and elected members using a variety of communication channels, including staff newsletters and email bulletins

Review daily press coverage and inform services, senior officers and elected members of relevant articles.

Attend Full Council, Executive, and Regulatory and Scrutiny Committee meetings as and when required

Undertake such other duties to meet operational needs of the Corporate Transformation Service (in line with grading of the post).
