Course Description

This course has been designed for leaders at all levels, to explore practical ways to develop ‘Excellent Communication Skills’ in the workplace within your own organisation.

At the end of the course, each learner with complete a short practical personal action plan to improved own communication skills and knowledge to improve the team performance, team motivation level an increase in productivity and a reduction in staff turnover and conflict.

The course has been designed to allow delegates to reflect on own communication skills and gain valuable feedback from others on their emotional intelligence and leadership styles.

Leading to improved confidence in dealing with difficult but essential conversations, in order to improve the team’s performance.

Key Content (modules used):

  1. Definition: What is Communication.
  2. Why creating a culture of ‘Excellent Communication’ in the workplace is essential for the business. (Linked to company Mission, Vision and Values) and the Shannon and Weaver Communication model.
  3. Analyse the impact of poor communication on the business and individuals.
  4. Explore how leaders and managers can align the company Code of Conduct to become a role model.
  5. Understand the importance of Emotional Intelligence in the process of communication (Goleman Model).
  6. Develop a Five Steps personal Action Plan to further develop own communication skills and knowledge leading directly to enhancing the organisation team members and customer experience and organisation performance.

Note: the course will require the learners to gain formal feedback from others on: Leadership Styles and Emotional Intelligence skills between session 1 and 2.
